The following definitions are used in this Privacy Policy:
  • TGP means The Greatest Pitch, LLC, a Massachusetts limited liability company;
  • Competition means the competition held by TGP;
  • Site User means all individuals that visit TGP's Web site;
  • Applicant means individuals applying to participate in the Competition;
  • Members means all members of TGP team playing a role in the Competition, including, but not limited to, the Advisory Council, potential members of the Investor Panel, and TGP staff;
  • Third Parties means sponsors, such as corporations or other entities that sponsor the Competition, and affiliated third parties, including, but not limited to, marketing professionals, investors, advisors, and advertisers.
Information that we collect on Site Users and Applicants.
Like many Web sites, TGP's Web servers automatically collect information about a Site User''s IP address, browser type, and referrer by reading this information from the User''s browser (information provided by every user''s browser). This information is collected in a database and used in an aggregated, anonymous manner in our internal analysis of traffic patterns within our Web site. We may use technologies, such as cookies and web beacons, to collect information about the pages you view, the links you click and other actions you take on our site and services. A cookie is a small text file that is placed on your hard disk by a Web page server. Cookies contain information that can later be read by a Web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. A web beacon is a single-pixel gif which assists in delivering cookies on our website and allows us to count users who have visited those pages. We may use web beacons from Third Parties in order to help us compile aggregated statistics regarding the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns or other operations of our Web site.

Most browsers automatically accept cookies, but you should be able to change your browser settings either to refuse all cookies or to display a warning while giving you the option to refuse to accept the cookie each time one is sent. If you do not allow your browser to accept cookies, however, you may not be able to use certain features of TGP's Web site.

Information that we collect on Applicants.
When you submit an application for the Competition to TGP, we collect some personal information from you, including your name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address. We also collect additional information to be used in the Competition. The type of information collected varies depending on your role in the Competition and the information that you submit. For example, the information submitted by an Applicant varies from the information submitted by a potential member of the Investor Panel.

Personal information and information sharing.
An Applicant's personal information consists of the information submitted regarding yourself, your company, and other information you submitted to TGP. We may share your personal information with Members and Third Parties insofar as it is necessary to run the Competition. However, Third Parties will only have access to personal information which you disclose as part of your participation in the Competition. We may share aggregated information with Third Parties for the purpose of promoting TGP or conducting general business analyses. For example, TGP might share information with our marketing professionals regarding which services of our site are the most popular, where our applicants are based, or in which industries our applicants are most represented or under-represented.

How we use Applicant's information.

We may use information that we collect about Applicants to:
  • verify the eligibility of Applicants;
  • operate the Competition;
  • communicate with Applicants about the Competition;
  • audit, research, and analyze the use of our Web site;
  • ensure the technical functioning of our network;
  • marketing and promotion;
  • manage TGP's business; and
  • perform functions otherwise described at the time information is collected.
Applicant access to personal information.
TGP will make good faith efforts to provide Applicants with access to their personal information either to correct this data if it is inaccurate or to delete such data at your request if it is not otherwise required to be retained by law or for legitimate business purposes. Children under 13.

TGP does not expect children to use this Web site, and we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you are under 13 years of age, do not send any information about yourself to us including information such as your name, mailing address, or e-mail address. If we learn we have collected any personal information from a child under the age of 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information from our database as quickly as possible.

Site Users from outside the United States.
This Privacy Policy is intended to cover collection of information on our Web site from residents of the United States. If you are visiting our Web site from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers are located and our central database is operated. The data protection and other laws of the United States and other countries might not be as comprehensive as those in your country. Please be assured that we seek to take reasonable steps to ensure that your privacy is protected. By using our services, you understand that your information may be transferred to our facilities and those Third Parties with whom we share it as described in this Privacy Policy.

Changes to our Privacy Policy.
TGP will occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices and services. When we post changes to this Privacy Policy, we will revise the last updated date at the top of this statement. If we make any material changes in the way we collect, use, and/or share your personal information, we will notify you by sending an e-mail to the e-mail address you most recently provided us.
